Beauty Role Model - Marisa Tomei

Marisa Tomei is a 51 years old woman who looks like 30. She is the kind of woman whose wrinkles only improves her charm and charisma and makes her smile even more attractive and sexy. She has a lean body and a very natural look. I wish I could age like her and get better year after year.
That is why I chose Marisa for my beauty role model list. Marisa definitely masters the art of growing naturally beautiful. So let's check her routine and see if we can discover her beauty secrets!

Body

In all the interviews from Marisa I noticed she does not put much effort on regular and traditional gym. Marisa usually prefers exercises she can have fun, like dancing and hula hooping. Yes, hula hoops! Marisa is a great fan and advertiser of hula hooping and I have to confess, before her I thought that hula hoops were only for kids to play around. However, because of her I found a whole universe of getting in shape through hula hooping! It is a very advanced technique to exercise and hula hoops are considered real gym equipments!

Besides hula hooping, Marisa practices belly dance, she thinks it balances the female hormones and shape the body. As we can see Marisa focus mainly in cardio exercising and she is not a big fan of weights. Maybe that is why she has such a natural and female body: lean and firm, but not toned. However Marisa does make stronger exercises in regular basis when she has important events or when she has to prepare for a particular role like the one in the movie “The Wrestler”. For those occasions, Marisa seems to be trained by her personal trainer Key Son. They seem to get along so well that they even record a exercising DVD series together "Marisa Tomei: Core & Curves". Marisa has also another DVD with hula hoopings.

Food

Marisa says she earned good feeding habits from her mother and she owns her body and skin to those habits. Her mother has Italian roots and seems to follow a more Mediterranean diet which is famously know as being very healthy with focus in natural and fresh food (and extra virgin olive oil, of course).

Marisa also drinks water and lemon first thing in the morning and a lot of water along the day. She seems to never follow crazy diets, except when she was training to play in the movie “The Wrestler” when she had to follow a low carb/high protein diet. She says she tries to fell the body signs and give it what it needs.

Skin

Marisa says her secret for the good skin (besides the good genes) is smiling, happiness and sleeping. She sleeps at least 8 hours per day and she believes it makes all the difference. She also says she drinks a lot of water and she tries to always drink super clean water. She installs water filter in every tap she is going to use including bathroom. It means she also uses filtered water to wash her skin.

Regarding products, she says she does not have a regular product or brand. However she often names Cetaphil as a regular cleaner and Persephenie as moisturiser. She also said in one of the interviews I found that she tries to use “things that can eat, that are food-grade”. Among them, coconut oil all over the body and also jojoba oil.

Style

Marisa says she loves the color persimmon and jumpers. Indeed, I could see she likes a more casual look by her pictures which include street and red carpet. She also says she likes a vintage style and loves flea markets and garage sales. Regarding the hair, Marisa has rarelly changed her hair style and when she did I believe it had more to do with particular roles than with her own style.

One thing she seems to almost never change, the color, always dark brown. She is definitely a brunette. And besides she changes the style she usually keeps her hair at medium size.

Summing up

Marisa Tomei is not a gym crazy. Good news! She prioritizes fun cardio exercises such as belly dancing and hula hooping. To take care of the skin, Marisa is a good sleeper and a healthy eater, she follows a mediterranean way of eating and drinks a lot of water, including water with lemon in the morning. She also uses coconut and jojoba oil for skin. About style, Marisa is very basic and likes loose clothes but very classy at the same time.
