She could be a
ordinary girl, but she chose to be a diva! That is Monica Bellucci,
one of the last true beauty icon alive. When we see Monica's pictures
we see that goddess gorgeous charming 51 years old woman, but when we
see teenager Monica, we see just another regular cute girl. So, what
happened to her? What did she do to turn into one of the most
beautiful woman on earth? That is what I tried to find out and
describe here.
Normally I go
straight to the person's beauty habits, but there is something more
about Monica. There is something about her posture that goes beyond a
beautiful face and perfect body. Monica is a real world traveller.
She can speaks italian (native), french and english fluently and
spanish and portuguese almost fluently. She also learned a bit of
other languages but I think that being fluent in five languages is
enough to consider someone above the average. Also, Monica lives in
different places/country along the year and avoids routine. All that
means that Monica worked really hard to improve her skills and be
more than another pretty woman. I think that is what makes of her a
truly role model and that is why she is here in my beauty role model
list. So, let's find out how she made to go from a sweet normal girl
to a glamorous diva.
Body
Monica has that kind
of body which I consider hard to keep, she is not fat or skinny, she
is voluptuous. In the interviews with Monica she says she dislike
gym. Her regular exercises are swimming (45 minutes, 4 times a week)
and yoga (everyday). For her, swimming is the real exercise, and she
consider it works every muscle from the body – also it burns 500 to
750 calories per hour. And yoga is something she seems to enjoy
mostly to release the stress, but it also helps to balance the body
physiology, improve flexibility and some says to replace strength
training. Besides swimming and yoga, Monica eventually walks, run or
box in leisure time in a way to always keep moving. When she is
travelling, Monica seems to take an elastic with her to exercise the
arms when she has a free time at the hotel.
Food
Similarly to EvaMendes, Monica seems to never follow a radical diet. Instead, she
follows a portion control diet, which allows her to eat whatever she
wants but in moderation. According to her, she is totally against
starvation to lose weight. When she needs to lose weight she tries to
consume higher proportions of proteins (meat and fish) and
vegetables. Monica, just like the previous role models from my list,
also drinks a lot of water daily.
Skin
Monica has a very
simplistic skincare routine. She goes for a cool shower in the
morning and a very light moisturiser. She also uses refreshing face
spray along the day. She avoids heavy make-up and in daily life she
uses mascara and lip gloss. When she uses a heavier make-up she uses
a finish creamy foundation and a foundation – according to her all
from Dolce&Gabbana, but I can't really tell, since she is the
brand ad-girl – and goes for grey or brown for the eyes. In the end
of the day she put emphasis in removing all the make-up to protect
the skin. She also avoids using any make-up when exercising.
Style
Black is definitely
Monica Bellucci's favourite dressing color. Her dressing style
matches with old movie italian divas. She is inspired by Sophia Loren
and Gina Lollobrigida and says she follows a kind of mediterranean
style. I do not know what she means by mediterranean style, but I
don't think mediterranean women wear black as often as Monica does.
Some people say that Monica likes to wear black in a way to dissemble
body imperfections and always look slim and classy. It might be, but
I particularly prefer Monica in bright colors, they make her look
lighter, happier and younger. Besides the color there is an item that
is always with her, big black glasses. Those glasses really match
with her face and protect the eye area from the sun, avoiding wrinkes
and spots. Another Monica's recognizable trademark is her hair. She
had different styles along the life but in the last years she has
been wearing long and straight black hair.
Summing up
Monica Belluci's beauty routine is coll shower in the morning
followed by a light moisturiser, mascara and lip gloss. She swims 4
times a week, for 45 minutes, and does yoga everyday. She eats small
portions of whatever she wants and increase the proportion of protein
and vegetables when wanting to lose weight. Her dressing and make-up
style is of a diva, expressive brownish eyes and well-tailored
dresses. Althought Monica has all that diva
style she says her beauty secret is to be confident
and sure about yourself.
